Loetz Knicek Boudnik Pandora Iridescent Art Glass Vase
This large pandora vase was created by maximillian boudnik, between 1900 and 1905. Known as the pandora glass line, these vases are seldom found in this country, it is strongly associated with the jungenstil, art nouveau and bohemian glass makers of eastern europe. There is a case dedicated to this glass in the passua museum, it is also found in several reference books. As can be seen in the photos, the body of the vase features random metallic colors of orange, blue, truquoise and rust, areas of glass that are free of metal salts are transparent.
Typical of loetz glass, it is light in weight in proportion to its size. Minor wear on teh base commensurate with age.
The vase is 12 3/8 inches tall, the base is 2 3/4 inches in diameter, the body is approximately 4 1/4 inches in diameter.
